Simple Installations
Author recommends that the Spaw folder be placed in the root directory of your server for ease of configuing and for sharing with another phpnuke if happens to have more than one installed.
After downloading and extracting the program upload the scripts to your website , keeping the folder structure intact: Please Note: PHPNuke v7.5 is laid out differently from previous PHPNukes. Pay close attention to the sturcture layout of the modules as they now include Admin Folders where updates for the spaw editor have been made.
admin/modules/ *.* to phpnuke admin/modules Note: Only the message.php file is replaced.
include/*.* to phpnuke include/
modules/modulename/*.* to phpnuke module/modulename/ Note: Admin changes made here.
spaw/*.* to root directory of your website.
Open up your phpnuke config.php file and look for this...

You can alter this to fit your needs.
The listing provided allows all the tags that the spaw uses.
To allow for attributes within a tag, change the variable from 1 to 2.

NOTE: Please be aware that by editing the config.php file to allow a wider array of html you may be causing a big security risk. Save your config.php file and upload it to your phpnuke files. Make sure you have the correct database information in it before loading for you phpnuke program.
Modify the style.css to the theme you are currently using with your nuke program.
Open up themes/YOUR_THEME/style/style.css
Look for and delete the line that looks like:
FONT {FONT-FAMILY: Verdana,Helvetica; FONT-SIZE: 11px}
CHMOD 777 the spaw/images folder to allow Image Uploads
Configuring the Spaw Editor: It is advisable and easier to configure if you place your SPAW
folder in the root directory of your server. If you should have your PHPNuke program in a sub-directory
do not place you SPAW folder in the same sub-directory. Place the SPAW Folder in the root directory only.
First: Open spaw_control.config.php in the spaw/config folder. Look at line 16 for the following...
$spaw_dir = '/spaw/';
Ensure your Spaw folder is in the root directory of your website as stated in paragraph 6 above. With the SPAW folder in your root directory you do not need to change $spaw_dir variable. Leave it as it is.
Scroll down a little bit and find the following...
$spaw_base_url = 'http://www.yourdomain.com/';
With your Spaw folder is in the root directory only change the www.yourdomain.com to the url of your website.
Once the above is done scroll to line 77 where you will find the followiing.
Change the first 'value' setting to reflect the location of your spaw/images folder. With your spaw folder in the root directory of your website then the 'value' will equal 'spaw/images' and the text which is the Caption you'll see in the popup image dialog can be 'Spaw Images' or anything you with to call it so it looks like this....
The second array can be set up to display your images in your nuke or any image folder you have set aside. If your using your nuke images and your nuke is setup in your root directory than set the value as such... 'value' = 'images', . If you nuke images are in a sub-directory then set vaulue up as such to show that as ... 'value'='nukefolder/images', . Then enter your text or caption. Remember when setting up your values that most servers are case sensitive.
7. Configuring for File and Flash Insert.
There are two exactly named variables that must be configured to allow for 'File and Flash' uploading to your server.
Go to your Spaw folder and open up the Dialog directory. Then open up in an editor the file file_upload and look at about line 39 for the variable $swfurl . Where it states $swfurl = 'http://www.yourdomain.com' change it to reflect your domain address.
Now go to line 147 and you will find the variable $dir_name. This may be a little tricky but do the following:
If you do not know your absolute address then open the file spaw_control_class.php.
At line 38 after the three 'includes' add this line: echo $spaw_root;
After saving the spaw_control_class.php run 'Submit News' on your site. At the very top left hand side you will see an absolute address. (If you have a dark background then hold down your mouses' right button and sweep the area where your address should be. This should highlight it.)
Once you get your address you should be able to set the variable $dir_name.
After doing the file 'file_upload' you can now do the same as above to the file 'flash_upload'. You'll find the same variables as above at line 39 and 157.
Once you have completed the above please remove the 'echo $spaw_root;' from your spaw_control_class.php file.
That's it! Now, just save and upload spaw_control.config.php to the spaw/config folder and check out your new editor.
